Patiala Sacrilege Case: An incident of sacrilege has come to the fore in the historic Kali Mata Mandir in Patiala, Punjab. On this matter, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi tweeted that the incident happened today (Monday) at around 2.30 pm, when a person climbed the place where the idol of Kali Mata is kept in the temple. He said that people had caught him there and then handed him over to the police.
In another tweet, CM Channi said, "Some vested interests are constantly trying to destabilize the social harmony of Punjab in view of the upcoming elections. But I will not allow this malicious intention of theirs to succeed."
After the incident, Patiala DC Sandeep Hans reached the Kali Mata temple. There he took stock of the place of incident. Sandeep Hans told that the person who committed the sacrilege has been identified. His name is Rajdeep Singh. The accused is a resident of village Nain Kala. The Patiala Bandh has been announced by the Hindu Security Committee regarding this matter.
What did Arvind Kejriwal say?
The reaction of Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal has also come to the fore on this matter of sacrilege. He tweeted, "Conspiracies are continuing to spoil the atmosphere of Punjab. The desecration attempt in Shri Kali Mata Mandir of Patiala is highly condemnable. The accused should be given strict punishment. A few days ago there was an attempt to sacrilege in Harmandir Sahib. Sacrilege Strict punishment should be given by exposing the faces of the conspirators behind the incidents.
Patiala SP said that they are investigating the matter of this alleged sacrilege. He said that action would be taken against the accused.
