Review of Josh Gad is Voicing New Ghost Muncher in Ghostbusters: Afterlife

In a recent interview with IGN, director Jason Reitman has officially confirmed Frozen star Josh Gad’s involvement in Sony Pictures’ long-awaited Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The Juno filmmaker revealed that he enlisted Gad to voice one of the sequel’s newest ghosts named Muncher, who has been teased a lot in previously released trailers.

“Josh and I ran into each other on the Sony lot, and I was like ‘Hey, do you want to come voice this ghost?’ He was like ‘yes,’ and he literally just walked in the room,” Reitman said. “We were literally in a room at the time, he walked right in, he started doing sounds, and that is where the sound of Muncher came from.”

Last year, Gad hosted a Ghostbusters reunion for his quarantine show Reunited Apart. The episode featured the appearances of Ivan and Jason Reitman along with Ghostbuster alums Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, who are all expected to return in the upcoming threequel.
