Belfast is written and directed by acclaimed actor-director Kenneth Branagh, who previously described the project as his “most personal film” to date. The film will be led by newcomer Jude Hill as Buddy. Joining him are Golden Globe nominee Caitriona Balfe (Outlander) and BAFTA nominee Jamie Dornan as Buddy’s passionate working-class parents, with Oscar-winner Dame Judi Dench, and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Buddy’s sharp-witted grandparents.

The synopsis reads: “The film s a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy’s childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s.”
