Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti Join Amazon's Goodnight Mommy Remake

According to Variety, young actors Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti have officially been tapped for the leading roles opposite Oscar nominee Naomi Watts (The Ring) in Amazon Studios’ forthcoming English remake of Goodnight Mommy, based on the 2014 Austrian horror thriller of the same name. The 13-year-old twins are set to portray the roles of two brothers suspecting that the woman with her face covered in bandages isn’t their real mother, who will be played by Watts.

The Crovetti twins gained recognition for starring as Nicole Kidman’s sons in HBO’s acclaimed Big Little Lies. Cameron Crovetti recently appeared in the second season of The Boys as Homelander’s son. Meanwhile, Nicolas appeared in last year’s crime drama pic Brothers by Blood, starring Joel Kinnaman and Matthias Schoenaerts.

Written and directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (The Lodge), Goodnight Mommy followed twin brothers who, when sent to stay with their mother, are surprised to find her swathed in bandages from a recent procedure. As her behavior grows increasingly erratic and unusual, the twins become convinced she is an imposter. Their suspicion sets off a roller-coaster of emotional mind games and misunderstandings between mother and her children, that eventually explodes with irreparable and heartbreaking consequences.
