Meanwhile, 'Mumbai Diaries 26/11', a medical drama series that explores the 26/11 attacks from the attitude of doctors, will premiere in March 2021

It was the evening of November 26, 2008, that saw one of the worst ever terror strikes within the history of India, with terrorists storming multiple landmark locations in Mumbai, claiming the lives of a minimum of 166 innocent souls and leaving over 300 injured. 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists administered 12 coordinated shooting and bombing lasting four days.

In these gruesome attacks, nine terrorists were killed, and therefore the lone survivor, Ajmal Kasab caught and was sentenced to death at Yerwada Central Jail in Pune in 2012. On Veterans' Day, 2012, Kasab was hanged in Yerawada Jail in Pune.

The impact of the day left un-healable and non-curable scars of trauma within the lives of not only those that lost their loved ones but also for many Indians, who witnessed the carnage.


On Thursday, as India marked yet one more year of the 26/11 terrorist attacks, Bollywood stars too expressing their feelings over it and paid tributes to the martyrs.

Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "26/11, each day Mumbaikars will always remember. My heartfelt tribute to the martyrs and victims of the #MumbaiTerrorAttack. we'll forever be indebted to our Bravehearts for his or her supreme sacrifice (sic)."


Abhishek Bachchan too took to his social media handle and while quote-tweeting Mumbai Police's tweet on 26/11, he wrote, "Lest we forget." Abhishek followed it up with a folded-hand emoji. 


Shilpa Shetty wrote, "Praying for peace and healing for every single life that was changed, lost, and altered...#26thNovember #peace #healing #MumbaiTerrorAttack #2611Attack #MumbaiAttack (sic)."


Urmila Matondkar tweeted, "Heartfelt tribute to martyrs n victims of 26/11 #MumbaiTerrorAttack Salute to strength n resilience of individuals of #MumbaiCity Eternally grateful for your supreme sacrifice n you're forever in our hearts #BlackDay #MumbaiAttack #MumbaiPolice #JaiHind Flag of India (sic)."


Meanwhile, 'Mumbai Diaries 26/11', a medical drama series that will explore the 26/11 attacks from the attitude of doctors, will premiere in March next year. the primary look of the series was unveiled on the 12th anniversary of the fear attacks, on Thursday.
